Can traditional banks co-exist alongside fintechs in the long run? The opportunities and threats of the new financial ecosystem

Spanish

Fast-paced changes are sweeping through the financial ecosystem due to the increasing use of IT by banks and new competitors. Traditional finance companies are updating their operations and the new competitors are focussing on IT. In addition, fintech services can be accessed from mobiles and online platforms anytime, anywhere.

In short, in this new scenario, the companies providing traditional financial services have been plunged into competing against new players. The combination of a pro-active ecosystem and weak regulations will determine the future scenario and whether the two adversaries can co-exist indefinitely.

This session aims to answer many questions currently under discussion including current and future concerns such as the challenges faced by this sector, the possible risks and the ability of the two models to co-exist in the long term.
