November 28 OF 2017 from 08:30 AM to 10:00 AM

The ESADE Alumni Property Club and the ESADE Alumni Operations Club are pleased to invite you to this talk entitled, ''The challenge of the last mile in e-commerce logistics”.

As the upsurge in e-commerce revolutionises the industrial and logistics sector, it is essential to be able to anticipate customers’ needs regarding the type of asset, innovation and sustainability, in an awareness of the impact of e-commerce on logistics today. The manufacturing logistics sector is one of the areas that has evolved most since the onset of e-commerce and new buying habits, resulting in the development of increasingly immediate urban freight distribution.

In addition, the fast-paced growth of e-commerce in Spain is plain to see. To be precise, Spain is the fourth EU country is terms of online sales and, according to CES figures, four out of every ten Spaniards shop on line regularly. In the meantime, more and more flagship stores, commercial premises and shops are opening in the centres of large towns – all of which require efficient and well-organised logistics. Hence the issues of e-logistics and urban freight transport (UFT) are increasingly evident.
