Globalization and voting Behavior in Western Countries a talk by Italo Colantone

The ESADE Alumni Boston Chapter would like to invite you to the forthcoming talk organized by the Bocconi Alumni Association on Tuesday May 22nd at 6pm at the Harvard University Littauer Center of Public Administration.

Prof. Colantone investigated the impact of globalization on electoral outcomes in fifteen western European countries from the 1980s onwards. He will explain the results of his research and especially how the exposure to increased imports in those countries led to increased support for nationalist and radical rightwing parties. He will also illustrate several findings about the recent Italian election of March 2018.

 

Italo is an assistant professor of economics at Bocconi University. He works in the department of policy analysis and public management, and teaches European Economic Policy, Macroeconomics, and the Economics of European Integration. His research focuses on international trade, political economy, and applied industrial organization.

He is currently in Boston as a visiting professor at Harvard University, in the department of economics.
