Spanish

April 02 OF 2019 from 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM

This talk hosted by the ESADE Alumni Senior Club aims to answer questions about retirement:

- Which is the best way and when to redeem a pension plan?
- Is it advisable to claim tax relief on the sale of one’s main residence? Is the sale of a second residence eligible for tax relief?
- Are annuities or reverse mortgages advisable? What do they involve and what complications might arise?
The following matters will be examined:
-    Redeeming a pension plan: important considerations.

We will examine the statutory deadlines for redeeming a pension plan and analyse the impact on income tax, particularly as regards contributions entitled to rebates of 40%.

-    Income tax exemption when selling main residence.
We will discuss the scope of these tax benefits and the circumstances in which a dwelling can be regarded as a main residence, and second residence be regarded as a main residence.

-    Annuities and reverse mortgages.
We will analyse how annuities affect income tax depending on the taxpayer’s age and we will discuss particularly the taxation of annuities based on a lump sum and reverse mortgages based on the taxpayer’s dwellings.
