Silence: Lessons from a Dakar Rally Driver Applied to the Business World

Spanish

This session has been postponed. We will inform the new date soon.

The Esade Alumni Marketing Club is pleased to invite you to a breakfast session entitled “Silence: Lessons from a Dakar Rally Driver Applied to the Business World”, where Carlos Sotelo will share the success story of Silence, describe the many challenges he has overcome and discuss his goals as an industrial entrepreneur in the mobility sector.

Carlos Sotelo is the founder and CEO of Silence, a Barcelona-based company that has pioneered innovative electric mobility solutions. Silence is the leading producer of electric scooters, with a market share of 83% in Spain in 2019 and 37% in Europe in 2018. The company’s clients include Acciona, SEAT, Correos, Telepizza, and institutions such as the Madrid and Barcelona municipal governments.

Carlos first rose to prominence as a driver in the world’s most challenging rally: the Paris–Dakar. And he wasn’t just an ordinary driver: he was an official driver in eight editions of the rally, the winner of three stages and the third-place finisher overall in 1996.

Nothing happens by chance. Carlos’s values and business acumen may well have been forged out on the African dunes, or perhaps even earlier. No one understands the word “silence” better than a cross-country driver.

We hope to see you there!

This session is for Esade Alumni members only. Space is limited.
