ESADE Alumni is pleased to invite you to their forthcoming Refresher Programme talk, Trends in Human Resource Management, by Carlos Royo, associate professor in the ESADE department of people management and organisation.

How is people management evolving?  What is the role of managers in personnel policy implementation? Which are the most frequent mistakes in personnel policy implemention? And the best practices?

This talk about how personnel management is evolving will be very useful for managers dealing with human resources and stakeholders whose policies impact day-to-day business.



Carlos Royo

Carlos Royo holds a PhD in Social and Organisational Psychology (University of Barcelona (UB)), a Master’s Degree in Human Resources (UPC) and a postgraduate qualification in the Analysis and Management of Groups in Organisations (UB). His studies include a stay at the University of Sunderland, UK, during the first year of his PhD. He completed the External Coach Intensive (Columbia Business School, New York). He combined his teaching activities at ESADE with his post as the head of Training, Development and Recruitment at RACC. Previously, he was in charge of Leadership and Competency Development Projects at Banco Sabadell, and worked in HR management at Adecco and Renault. He is now a professor of LEAD (Leadership Assessment and Development) at ESADE, designed to develop professional leadership skills on the basis of emotional intelligence. He also teaches organisational psychology in several master’s degrees at UB, where he is also an associate professor. He has also given classes in leadership at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio). He has written articles about competency management and its application in professional environments. His main field of research is the link between professional practice (what happens in companies) and teaching environments and business schools.
