The ESADE Alumni Operations Club is holding a guided tour of the most advanced logistic centre in Spain. The Lliçà dynamic distribution centre has a total surface area of 170,000 sqm on two storeys.
The warehouse is divided into two zones: hanging and folding/crossdecking. This centre distributes goods to stores around the world. With a peak preparation capacity of 1,700,000 units: 85% folded/crossdocked and 15% hanging. With a need for some 1,000 members of staff to work the different shifts.
During this visit, participants can find out about and, in some cases, visit the different units including multifunction hanging, hay bay, revolving, dynamic lung and shuttle-motor picking.
