The ESADE Alumni People Management and Organisation is pleased to invite you to their next talk in Madrid, "Talent management at Repsol. A cornerstone of corporate change" by Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri, Executive Managing Director People and Organization at Repsol.

The energy market is constantly evolving and is hugely interdependent on the global economy. Repsol, a foremost company in this market, continues to be an excellent example of how to manage on-going change by making people management a strategic part of the company. We are honoured to announce that Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri, Executive Managing Director People and Organization at Repsol, will be joining us on this occasion. Drawing upon his considerable track record in the company, Arturo will explain this process in full detail.

 

Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri

Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri (Madrid, 1963). Managing director of people and organisation and member of the Corporate Executive Committee since March 2016. Director of the company’s human resources: more than 25,000 employees of 80 nationalities in a workplace characterised by diversity and our cultural values.

Arturo has been part of the Repsol team since 1990. For more than 20 years he has occupied management positions in different areas of the company including research, environment, safety, quality and media. During the same period he also held positions of responsibility in the public sector including director of the Madrid Region Environmental Agency and general secretary of pollution prevention and climate change in Spain’s Ministry of the Environment.

From December 2012 to March 2016, he was the corporate director of institutional relations and corporate responsibility and helped consolidate the company’s commitment to sustainability and its institutional positioning in Spain and the international arena.

Arturo holds a PhD cum laude in Chemistry (Universidad Complutense, Madrid) and studied the Management Development Programme (PDD) (IESE Business School). He has taught at several establishments and published articles in Spanish and international journals.

He is also a member of the Repsol Foundation board of trustees and has been awarded the Cross of Military Merit with white decoration.

He has represented the company in several entities related to the energy industry such as, for example, as the president of the Spanish committee on the World Energy Council and vice-president of the Club Español de la Energía from December 2010 to June 2017.
