Inmaculada Benito has been the director of Tourism, Culture, and Sport since January 2021, a position she began simultaneously with the creation of the tourism and culture department at CEOE. In addition to leading the department, she also serves as the Secretary of the Tourism Board and of the Culture and Sports Commission at CEOE.
Inmaculada Benito holds a degree from the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE University of Navarra; from the Public Affairs Management program at ICADE – University Pontificia de Comillas; from the ICLD in the Course on Leadership in Complexity offered by the CEDE Foundation; from the postgraduate in Global Corporate Communication offered by ESADE; from the Master’s in Tourism Management and Planning from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB); and from the Master’s in Hospitality Management from Sheffield Hallam University, in addition to being a graduate in Tourism from the University of the Balearic Islands
Inmaculada has been associated with the tourism sector throughout her entire career. From 2017 until she joined CEOE, she was part of Iberostar Group, where she became corporate director of the Office of the CEO, Communication, and Institutional Relations.
Prior to that, since 2002 she had been associated with hotel business organizations and held different posts within them, such as secretary general – manager of Playa de Palma Hotel Associations (AHPP), Palma (ASHPAMA), and the Hotel Chain Group (ACH). After that, in 2010, she joined the Hotel Federation of Mallorca, where she served as manager and vice-president, and was elected executive president in May 2015, a job she held until September 2017.
Between January 2007 and September 2008, she was associated with the public administration as the Manager of the Urbanistic Consortium of Playa de Palma.
She started her career in academia, where she was the director of the Tourism Research Laboratory at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and director of the Department of Entertainment and Tourism at the University Business Foundation.
