The ESADE Alumni Health & Pharma Club invites you to their talk ''3-D printing in healthcare. Fact, fiction and future. Its impact on the medical profession. The future business model.''
After making its presence felt in industry, in recent years 3-D printing has discovered the healthcare industry and been making inroads into medicine and surgery thanks to a few professionals convinced of its advantages.
Dental implants, pre-surgery models, operating guides and prostheses made of different materials are some of the products already supplied by 3-D bio printing but many more are being tested in fields such as dermatology, oncology and cardiology, all of which is likely to revolutionise many aspects of the everyday activities of healthcare professionals and health centres in the very near future.
What obstacles face this innovative technology? What does it cost to implement? What is happening in other countries? What will its real impact on organizations be? In other words, what lies ahead and how can you be prepared?
These are some of questions to be discussed by four experts representing:
- The companies supplying this technology
- The professionals already using it
- Universities and the training of future users
- Healthcare centres
