Josep Santacreu (DSIS 86 / PMD 89), CEO DKV Seguros, keynote speaker at the forthcoming Desayunos ESADE talk.

Dr. Josep Santacreu

Degree in medicine (Autonomous University of Barcelona). PhD in business administration (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). Diploma in hospital management and business administration (ESADE), and in the economics of healthcare (University of Barcelona).

His professional career began in 1985 as the executive secretary of Medicus Mundi International in Spain. From 1988 to 1992, he was the medical director of Hospital del Mar (Barcelona), Olympic Hospital during the 1992 Olympic Games of Barcelona, and 1992 Hospital Award.

1992-96, director of the Juan Canalejo Hospital (A Coruña). 1996-97, manager of the Quirón Clinic in Barcelona. In 1997 he was appointed CEO of Previasa where he led the 1998 buyout of the insurance company by the German company DKV AG, as a result of which he became the CEO of DKV Seguros. He is also the CEO of ERGO Generales and president of Marina Salud, S.A. and the DKV Integralia Foundation created by DKV Seguros to help the disabled become fully fledged members of society and the workforce.

Member of professional bodies including the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the German Chamber of Commerce. President of Respon.cat; board member of the Círculo de Empresarios (Madrid) and chairman of its corporate responsibility committee; Esade Alumni; FemCAT.

Member of the boards of trustees and advisory councils of many foundations: president of the DKV Integralia Foundation in Spain, president of the Ship2B Foundation’s board of trustees, vice president of the Plant for the Planet Foundation, Spain; patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, patron of the Fondo Kati Foundation, amongst others.
