How can infrastructure investment funds affect Spain’s energy transition?

The ESADE Alumni Energy and Environment Club are pleased to announce a lecture-discussion by Javier Contreras (MIM 89), CEO of Nortegas, about his experience.

Javier has been working since 2009 with private institutional investors in the energy industry in general and natural gas networks in particular.

He will explain the impact of funds on industry deconsolidation and also their considerable contribution to the energy transition awaiting Spain. Javier will share his views on different types of investors and their management models and dynamics, and value creation hubs.

 

Bio Javier Contreras 

Javier Contreras has a degree in law (Complutense University, Madrid) and an International MBA (ESADE, Barcelona). He is the new CEO of Nortegas. In the last ten years, Javier has worked in the energy industry and particularly natural gas distribution. Following the disinvestment carried out by Gas Natural Fenosa in 2010, he was appointed director of finance at Madrileña Red de Gas.

In September 2017, when the company’s shareholders changed, he became an independent member of the Nortegas board. In this capacity he has helped the company with several ventures related to legislation and business development.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Javier Contreras was the executive vice president and corporate managing director of X-Elio, a multinational in renewable energy development and operation. Before that, Javier held corporate and finance executive posts at Aventis Behring, Grifols and eDreams.
