The keys to success in family firms: management, structures and magnanimity, a talk by Alberto Gimeno

Conferencia | Spanish

The West Andalusia ESADE Alumni Club is pleased to invite you to their next event on 21 November at 19.00: The keys to success in family firms: management, structures and magnanimity, a talk by professor Alberto Gimeno (Lic&MBA 84 / PhD 99).

Family firm management focuses on recommending aspects of management and the creation of structures (governance, protocols, professionalization, succession, etc.) This is correct but not enough. Successful family firms usually develop this type of structure in combination with a much more subtle but essential dimension: the magnanimity of the family. A magnanimous family firm can have less well-defined structures. A small-minded family will need tightly constrained structures in order to create order, structures that will hinder the firm’s adaptation to an increasingly complex world.

After the talk by professor Alberto Gimeno, three speakers from family firms will begin a discussion about his talk:

•    Juan Moya Yoldi. Vice President, PERSÁN, S.A.
•    Jaime Osta Gallego. Sales manager. PRODOSA, MIGASA Group.
•    Juan Iturri. CEO, ITURRI.

This session will be structured as follows:

•    Talk by Alberto: 45 min.
•    Short presentation of the Persán, Prodosa and Iturri family firms: 30 min.
•    Panel discussion moderated by the President of the ESADE Alumni Andalucía Occidente Club, Javier Bécares (EMBA 16) between Alberto, businessmen and the public: 45 min.
