How will marketing evolve over the next few years? What are the key challenges that companies will have to face if they want to avoid being disrupted? At this Refresher Programme session, Oriol Iglesias, Associate Professor and Director of the Marketing Department at Esade, will discuss the key challenges that companies – and marketing managers in particular – will have to face over the next few years. 

In a climate of disruptive change, where technological and innovation cycles are moving faster than ever before, consumers and investors are demanding more and more accountability from companies. The line between online and offline is blurring, and artificial intelligence, big data and robotics are poised to dramatically reshape the competitive environment. It is therefore essential to have a precise strategic vision to guide the transformation that all organisations must undergo. At this session, Prof. Iglesias will discuss how to address these challenges and propose a roadmap to guide any organisation’s 2025 marketing strategy. 

 

Oriol Iglesias

Oriol Iglesias is an Associate Professor and Director of the Marketing Department at Esade, as well as a board member at the Institute for Data-Driven-Decisions. He previously served as Director of the Esade Brand Institute, a centre specialised in consulting services for brands, and Director of the Esade-URL Research Group on Brand Management. He has also consulted and/or developed in-company training programmes for leading global firms such as Porsche, Audi, Telefónica, HP, PwC and Nestlé. 

Oriol is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Global Brand Conference. For the past six years, he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC). His research has been published in top international management and marketing journals. He is the author of ¡Quiero esta marca! Cómo construir marcas deseables.

Before joining Esade, from 2000 to 2007 he was a managing partner at Wakaa Networks, a consulting firm specialised in marketing. During the same period, he was a managing partner at El Terrat Online, the online division of the television, theatre and entertainment company El Terrat. Previously, he was a senior consultant and later deputy director of ATI-Markefin, a consulting firm specialised in service marketing. He began his career in the marketing department at Xerox.
