*Full capacity. Once the webinar is finished we will upload the recording to our Content Hub. COVID-19 is the most significant economic disruption of the globalisation age. The priority is health and saving lives. The need for international coordination has devolved into a competition for healthcare resources. In the medium term, the global economy faces a profound yet transient shakeup that could recontextualise the technological and economic rivalry between the United States and China. The economic policies of governments and monetary authorities should aim to soften the collapse and accelerate the exit strategy. Companies must urgently develop contingency plans and medium-term strategies to ensure the viability of their activity and the jobs they provide. In this session, we will analyse the severity of the short-, medium- and long-term impact expected in different countries, economic sectors, value chains, and financial and commodity markets, as well as the effects on consumer confidence. We will also discuss alternative management strategies for companies and for various industrial and service sectors. In particular, we will discuss the effects of COVID-19 on the European and Spanish economies and assess the economic and social policies of the European and Spanish authorities.
