Juan Carlos Alvarez has a degree in Psychology from the University of Oviedo and a Master in Human Resources Management. He is certified in NLP, Belbin, MBTI, Birkman International, etc.
He is a psychologist with an outstanding career in leadership, coaching, emotional intelligence and sports and management development. A pioneer in the introduction of coaching in Spain, he has directed executive and sports programs, highlighting his work in institutions such as the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Francisco de Vitoria University, among others.
Juan Carlos has also left his mark in the business world, being the director of the first school of Executive Coaching in Spain (The Institute of Coaching) and creating the first university program in Executive Coaching at the Camilo José Cela University.
He has collaborated and currently collaborates as a professor in business schools such as ESADE, ISDE, EAE, IE, CEU San Pablo and universities such as Salamanca, Barcelona, Alcalá de Henares and Seville. An international lecturer and author of the book "The Mental Coach", he has also written numerous articles on leadership, psychology and coaching in various publications.
Currently, he leads the Master's Degree in Coaching and Sports Psychology at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR). He works with athletes, coaches, elite and Olympic teams, as well as with managers and senior management teams.
He is a Coach, Professor of Leadership, Management Development and High Performance Teams at Esade Business School.
