What will define success five years from now? Every day there is more evidence showing that the key will be measuring success not only in earnings but also in positive impact. What our company offers society has become the fundamental question for both consumers and workers. Are we talking about a utopia or a reality whose time has already come?

The second episode of Coffee Break by Esade is welcoming someone who not only understands this new paradigm but is helping to shape it with his ideas and teaching. He is Oriol Iglesias, professor in the Department of Marketing Management at Esade and co-author of the book Empresas con conciencia: Más allá de la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa [Companies with a Conscience: Beyond Corporate Social Responsibility].

Talking with Marc Gelabert, director of Admissions and Marketing at Esade Executive Education, Oriol Iglesias highlighted why it is so important to be more conscious and humane and to try to create a positive, transformative impact. Along with Oriol, we explore a management model that transforms organizations into profitable, conscious organizations. The goal is to go beyond CSR by creating companies with a conscience which guides their corporate strategy and purpose, enabling them to discern between right and wrong. During the interview, Iglesias speaks about companies like Patagonia, Ecoalf, Rabobank, and Unilever, which are examples worth following. He also speaks about how companies that want to be conscious should prepare themselves (what type of innovations they should development, what type of leader they need at the helm, and how they can retain talent).
