Join the ESADE Alumni Copenhagen Chapter for a talk with Martin Nyvang Mariussen (MBA 2018), co-founder of Kvadrant, who will be joined by Jeroen Verhoeven, associate admissions director of the MBA and MSc programs and Iñaki Ocaña (Lic&MBA 06 / DARH 12), international alumni relations director at ESADE Alumni.

Martin will give a 20-min talk about professional development in consulting from the perspective of consultants and leaders, followed by a short Q&A session 

Jeroen Verhoeven will outline the ESADE strategy for Scandinavian countries, and Iñaki Ocaña (Lic&MBA 06 / DARH 12) will take an in-depth look at the challenges facing ESADE Alumni International in this region and explain the main services for members.

As an owner and leader, Martin is responsible for the professional development of his consultants, helping them discover what they would like to become and how they want to do it. In consulting, there’s a natural progression that all consultants must go through and decisions all consultants must make about their professional career:
a.    Do I want to become a subject matter expert (specialist) or an excellent leader of people and change (manager)?
b.    Do I want to become an excellent account manager (farmer) or rain-maker extraordinaire (hunter)? 

The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session about people’s good (and less good) experiences in professional development.

Martin Nyvang Mariussen

My name is Martin Nyvang Mariussen, now Don Mariussen Blanco following my marriage to my Spanish wife last month.

I am 31 and the owner of a small consultancy in Copenhagen (2 owners + 4 full-time consultants) focused on helping sales and marketing leaders in B2B companies:
-    complex sales processes (industrial manufacturing, professional services, medical equipment etc.)
-    development of their organisation, processes and supporting technology (e.g. set up marketing automation system, develop the organisation and work routines to run continuously and improve it).

My biggest challenge today: how to go from being a subject matter expert to a leader of people.
