The event will be held online from March 10 to 14, gathering students from all over the world to work on innovative solutions.

Esade Alumni is launching a new edition of its Solidarity Hackathon by Reckitt, a participative experience that combines strategic challenges with social impact projects to benefit nonprofit organizations.
This year, the hackathon will partner with Mbolo, a pioneering NGO that is transforming the lives of the women of Gambia. Mbolo operates within a context of extreme poverty and sociocultural challenges to empower the women through training in technology, the installation of solar panels, arts, and crafts, equipping their communities with tools to achieve self-sufficiency.
To date, the NGO has impacted the lives of 824 women in more than 120 communities in Gambia, with a 75% job placement rate after graduation.

The challenge
The goal of this edition is to encourage the women of Gambia to share their stories of success and social change globally using digital storytelling tools. This will not only amplify their voices but also inspire other communities in Africa and the world.
We aspire to design self-sustainable initiatives based on digital tools which enable these women to share their stories in their own way: with their own narratives, aesthetic, and pace, faithful to their culture.
A project with real impact
Malang Sambou (LIS ‘23), the founder of Mbolo, aims to create a self-sustainable ICT laboratory that promotes digital literacy, creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
This is a pioneering, innovative, bold project that empowers women by fostering their self-sufficiency and offering a long-term vision. Malang has built a support network with around 50 people in local communities and neighboring countries, all of them committed to promoting social change and showing women and young people that there is a better future worth fighting for.
The project includes:
· Training program for women to equip them to achieve self-sufficiency.
· Leadership programs targeted at young people and entrepreneurs.
· Support for business development with training in digital marketing and access to financing.
